today, to help get myself into the christmas spirit, i donated to two causes i thought were deserving.

the first was to help fund women farmers in Ghana. Discovery generously allotted us an amount to donate to the charity of our choice so i was able to give a little bit more than my budget allowed. i’ve learned a lot about Ghana in the last three years and have met nothing but wonderful people from there. i wanted to give back.

the second was through heifer international. i bought three shares of a llama to help out a family in need. why a llama? because they’re near and dear to my heart. they bring me joy just by being there, so i hope a family will feel the same joy.

so, if you are feeling a little down or a little out of the holiday spirit this season, i suggest giving to someone else. whether it’s money, time or a gift, your generosity will go a long way. (and i already feel much more excited about the holidays - hooray!)
