i love fridays. the office was quiet and the majority of my team was working from home. my supervisor (in baltimore) told me to leave early and wrap up my day from home as well.  i much prefer my windows-open, sunshine streaming in view and the background noise coming from the vinyl on my record player to the office i sat in all day. cheers to the weekend.

Just got vacation time approved as well as working remotely around Christmastime! Two weeks of sweet Michigan in December, here I come!

GPOYW | Don’t let this smile fool you. I don’t even know how I can be so tired when this is the least-busy I’ve been at a job in a while (which is definitely going to change over time). I’m thinking it’s the longer commute, meeting many new people, and trying to learn new technology. BUT! I am happy. And that is what it is important.

  • I managed to only get lost at work three times (this new building is HUGE, ya’ll)
  • I met some cool new peeps
  • My new cubicle came with a stuffed gorilla.

My first day was filled with orientation and meeting tons of new people. I am tired. 

But it was a very good day.

So. Yesterday I put in my two week’s notice at my job. It was a very good job to me, but it’s been a tumultuous year, to say the least. Will I miss it? Absolutely. I have the best immediate coworkers in the world. But, have you ever had that feeling where you just feel like you’re repeatedly throwing yourself against a wall? Unable to move forward? I had reached that point. And decided that a move that would challenge me in new ways was in order. And I’m very lucky to have found the people at Animal Planet, because I think I’ve found a place where I can feel passionate about the content I work with again. Anywho. I’m still having those “Holy shit! I’m really doing this!” moments, but I’m still so incredibly happy. And feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. So here’s to the next chapter. I dig it. P.S. - Just a forewarning, the animal spam is totes gonna increase, btw. Sorry in advance!
